Obviously most of you were not born when Reagan routed Carter. What you are seeing today is exactly how it happened.

Carter was generally disliked and viewed as a failed president. But the alternative was a Hollywood actor who made a movie with a chimpanzee. People were skeptical they didn't know Reagan.

But, he took a lead in mid September which was attributed to a debate bounce. But, that bounce never disappeared it only got bigger as September turned into October. Carter only got 49 EV's I would not be surprised if Trump comes close to breaking that record.

Just like Reagan, the calendar going forward favors VP Harris.
